Listening

"A little-recognized value of listening and inquiring relates to the realization that in human relationships, it is frequently not what the facts are, but what people think the facts are, which is truly important. There is benefit in learning what someone else's concept of the reality of the situation is, no matter how wrong it might be."
Bryan Bell

Can you stop what you are doing and think, and take time to listen to the feelings behind someone's words to you. Before you speak, pause to listen to what you are about to say, and to how you are gooing to ay it. Pause too to make sure that you have listened to, and heard, what another person has just said to you.

Today

Be fully present for each conversation you engage in, and listen longer than usual - and with more patience - to what others are saying to you.
